One Last Poem

Updated: Jul 25, 2022

One Last Poem is the name of the album (and podcast) that I started to record 6 months after leaving hospital in 2017.

The name comes from a misreading, (or more likely in my case a 'misremembering') of a poem by Rumi.

In the last line Rumi writes 'OUR' last poem and yet somehow I remembered it as 'ONE last poem'.

I've no idea how long it took me to realise (I think the logo had already been made) but when I did, it didn't really feel like a mistake. It felt like it was meant to be.

To Rumi our life is a poem and we each write our own words.

He writes of 'Invisible camel bells, slight footfalls in the sand'.

In my mind, they are guiding us to our purpose in life.

I was sleepwalking and not living my purpose, so life woke me up.

It gave me another chance to do what I came to do.

To sing, to speak and to write.

My One Last Poem

Please take a few minutes to become immersed in the words of the poem by Rumi
